揮別怪病陰霾 小威勇奪61冠

〔自由時報記者梁偉銘／綜合報導〕美國史丹佛大學進行的西部銀行精英女網賽落幕，地主頭號種子小威廉絲後勁十足，從開賽1：5落後絕地大反攻，終挾7：6（7：1）、6：3轟垮德國第3種子柯珀，小威用本季第4冠揮別怪病陰霾，也展現美網硬地大滿貫預約3連后的霸者氣勢。

下月滿33歲的小威寶刀未老，決賽強轟6記愛司，後來居上笑納生涯第61座女單冠軍，「現在每週都是全新的開始，我要保持樂觀，對自己更好點。」歷經上月初溫布頓慘敗打擊，小威珍惜東山再起機會，尤其本季前3項大滿貫賽都開高走低，對於即將到來的美網，她得專注應戰才能衛冕，「我會牢牢把握，想辦法贏得每場勝利。」

世界球后小威於溫網草地大滿貫表現荒腔走板，不但女單第3輪爆冷出局，與姊姊合作女雙更在次輪只打3局，即跌破專家眼鏡草草退賽，之後她神隱長達3週，懷孕或失戀等謠言甚囂塵上，直到史丹佛重出江湖，才用壓倒性實力粉碎外界看衰聲浪。

儘管此役熱機過慢，發球局接連失守的小威，及時在對手首盤聽牌回神，硬是化解2個盤末點，不但把戰線逼進「搶7」，更重整旗鼓殺得柯珀節節敗退。大逆轉先下一城，次盤小威更是火力全開，日耳曼左手拍難以招架，也繼2011、12年後，第3度在此高舉金盃。
